302 with a C4
I have a 1971 Grande with a 302 2bbl and c4 auto trans. I have upgraded to a 4bbl carb and nice intake but am in need of the ford factory 4bbl throttle cable plate. Anyone have one for sale or know where I can get one??? Thanks!

Do you mean the bracket that mounts on the intake, for the throttle cable?

If so the only 4 V one is for a 351 C or 429

I have some ones for 351 C's

You probably need to modify your 302 one

Don

Don, thanks for the reply. I have an Edelbrock 1406 carb that required me to buy a kickdown adapter for my c4 transmission. This moved the linkage for the throttle cable out about an inch, so now my factory cable plate will not mount and align with it. I bought edelbrock's recommended 1490 throttle cable plate adapter and could not figure out how it mounts to save my life. I called edelbrock and they said the adapter was designed for a factory 4bbl carble throttle cable plate. So I just assumed there was one for 302. I will check out the site for the 351C plate.

I would call Edelbrock back

Explain to them there never was a 71-3 302 4 barrel car

There was a 302 4V in 1968

And the 1969 and 1970 Boss 302's were 4 barrels

I don't think any 69 and up 302's were 4 barrels in any of the Ford line

I would call them on it - how can they make a part / adapter for something that did not exist ???

You should be able to have some fun with that phone call
