It sure does! I had a crazy expensive reproduction battery when I built the car. It wa an AGM battery, it lasted 2.5 years. So yeah, I did put a Wal-Mart battery in it and it is still working. Oh no, did I just curse myself? Chuck

My last WM 24F battery is still going strong after 14 years. I bought a new one when I built the 351, so I gave it to a buddy a couple months ago for the 68 he just picked up. Says it hasn't given him any trouble yet.

WM also has their own AGM batteries under the Platinum line. I haven't seen availability in my area yet, but I might get one when they do show up, as they are half the price of the Optima line.

Here in Phoenix Arizona, just about ANY acid/lead battery will last no more than three years. The excessive desert heat just burns them out.
