Looks like the shoulder belt was in use and attached to the lap belt during the crash. The shoulder belt  was cut near the shoulder belt tag probably  by rescue personnel  to extract the driver.

Are you already looking for another yellow car?  :)
In truth, when I first saw this, I hoped the driver survived... Didn’t really care about the car.

Yes I agree, and I suppose it could have gone either way.  Doesn't seem very survivable if someone was in fact inside, but miracles can happen.  Just trying to interject a little humor, in light of your recent purchase.

Hope the drive survived the crash. I would feel weird buying parts off a car where there was a fatality. One a side note, yellow 71-73 haven’t had too much good luck
I know what you mean -- but think of the driver being one of us ... if one of us had (god forbid) perished in such a way - to think that say " the engine" were to continue in another car, it kind of keeps the celebration of life and memory of that donor and the driver alive. If it were me as a ghost looking down at you lot raiding my bent car for bits... it'd be my final moment of joy.  ::thumb::
