I thought I knew what this thread was about but now I don't have a clue. ::huh:::::shrug:::shrug2: ::tease::
O.K. keep up. Roy aka Tnfastbk went fishing 1 day and while having several nibbles never really hooked the big one. I on the other hand trolled around and found a good fishing hole that may produce a whopper if I can only find the right bait. EASY! :p

What if (I've always been that kind a guy) instead of changing your ring and pinion to reduce your rpm's in the high gear and then having to reduce wour low gear in the tranny to still have the out of the hole ratio you instead leave those 4:56's and change your 1:1 4th gear to an acceptable ratio for highway use. Sort of a toploader 4th gear overdrive. Hmmmmmm.

Do a google image search on "ford SROD". It sure LOOKS like a top loader. It is a 3 speed with overdrive in 4th gear position. Chuck
