Rear seat belt on 72 Mach 1

hi folks

Looking to know if the rear seat belts on my car are factory original (not seen these before, does anyone else have them?) and if so does anyone have a spare one or spare cover as one of them is without cover.... see pics. thanks! Baz

Nope, they don't look original to me (I could be wrong) but in before Doc! Post in the intro thread so we can give you a proper welcome!

I should have one, get the code off the tag on the retractor side belt

Steve, there was also different ones for convertibles. Then 2 different manufacturers who's belts look the same but won't latch / interchange.

Then the 72 -3 ones could be black plastic or metal in the center.

I learned the hard way, you have to match up the codes on the belt tags.

B.T. should do weekly quiz questions on seat belts, he could do a series.

Me too, you learn something everyday! I've seen a lot of 71/73 Mustangs over the years but never noticed a buckle other than the Star Burst design. I bow to Don's experience :udaman: , I'm sure he's seen a lot more than I have. Good info. I'll try to take some close-up pics of my seatbelt buckles and we can start a seatbelt comparison thread :idea:

I have those exact seatbelts on my 73 coupe, and I thought they were aftermarket as well.
