I'm kinda curious...

I saw a thread by Machmeter 1 where he wrapped the upper fabric edge of his sail panels under the rear window gasket.

My 72 Mach shows no evidence that the sail panels upper edge was ever wrapped behind the rear window gasket.

I'm restoring the interior on my car and it's time to do the sail panels...

The front of the sail panel is under the "C" pillar trim, the rear edge is in the slot of the panel above the rear window,

the bottom edge is under the rear interior side panels...

What is the correct treatment for the top of the sail panel?

The upper edge shoul go under the weatherstripping for a finished appearance

Ditto.  But, how that needs to happen depends on whether you have the backlight out or not.  It's easy to wrap it around the glass channel when the glass isn't there, but when it is - things become a challenge.

When I pulled the glass (windshield and backlight), I found headliner and sail panel material between the glass and glass channel, which leads me to believe that the factory installed the glass after the headliner and sail panels.

I did mine (along with the headliner) before I installed the glass, so it was a no-brainer.

Good luck!
