They're called rocker panel moldings and are available aftermarket (made by Corvex I believe) including clips. I've seen originals, all banged up, online and or just the clips. I think they're side specific too. I also thought that these only came on some Grande's but not certain!

My grandé had these, in very bad shape but looked different than the NPD picts or 1sostatic's. There were all dull aluminium, no black, a bit as the door step one with the Ford logo. Ditched them and after years looking for nos/repops or good used ones in vain, I've removed the small welded brackets that they were using when it got its first decent paint job in years.

The rocker panel moldings were standard on the 71 Grande, and all 72 and 73 body styles unless a Mach 1 or a option such as the Decor group deleted them. They were side specific. Finding used ones would be a waste of time since most of them would be damaged from road debris. Since they are available as a repo and made by the same company, I would shop around for the best price plus shipping since these are considered oversize. Some of the vendor's sell them as a set, others individually.

I would start with Don @ Ohio Mustang Supply. You can search online for  D1ZZ-6510177-A (left) and D1ZZ-6510176-A (right) to do price comparisons.

Good luck with your search.    :)

I've got one that you can have if you pay for shipping. It is light but I would probably have to find a shipping tube. Never look new, but should be presentable with some elbow grease and a new paint stripe. It is original for my car, but it only had one when I bought the car. I think it is the drivers side.

I'm tired of moving it around the garage.

In my 40 years of ownership, I have never seen them on any 71 to 73 car before. I suspect they are from an earlier year, like a 69 coupe.
Okay just ignore my comment above. Sorry, I should stop looking at pictures on my tiny phone screen. The rockers looked more like a single strip of brightwork you find on a 69 coupe. I need to get stronger glasses.

......

If anyone wants to have a set restored there is guy up north that will strip, re polish and anodize and repaint the stripe for I believe $37.00 a foot. I have seen his work in my friends shop and the trim he does looks way better than new. I would have to get his info from Clay and post.

On one of my parts buying trips a guy had new set of repo in the box I got for I think $35.00. He had crashed the car they were to go on and had no use for them. They look pretty close to originals. I have the 72 Q vert they would go on.
