I have a Boss 351 that I bought from a guy named Gene in August 1978 in Springfield Missouri. Been stored since, am now retired and going to start refurbishing the ole gal. She’s silver and black; most important she’s all there🤠

Great! Glad to hear another awesome B1 has been unearthed and will be restored to its former glory!

Can you share the VIN and some pictures? Here’s mine.

1F02R146445 alive and well in Texas!

Interestingly the VIN of Mike429cj's B1 is one earlier than the VIN of my Boss (1F02R146446). How many miles does Jonnywrench's Boss indicate? When you say that it is all there, does it have the original Autolite 4300D carburetor, original distributor, space saver spare, rev limiter etc? Has the vehicle previously undergone an engine refurbishing/ Does it have the original camshaft? Ther is a lot to being "all there". Thank you for advising the forum of your vehicle.

I have a Grabber Yellow BOSS 351 built 23 Nov 1970 and it is in the land down under. I have nearly owned it for four years and I believe one of the driving forces (pardon the pun) was I had multiple Matchbox Grabber Yellow BOSS Mustangs (flutes through the black bonnet/hood) which I still have a number of.

71-73 are a great design and super tough and having owned multiple Australian Falcon Hardtops and a 69 Mach 1 the 71-73 is my favourite.

Regards

Thank you for posting. Love to see some pics of your Boss. Do you get to drive it often? And what fuel do you use for the high compression motor?

Just like the title says, sound off if you have a Boss or '72 R-code and tell us a little about it.

Abudi,

I've also got an 351 Boss that was officialy delivered to FORD Switzerland. It has an additional tag and FORD Switzerland did some conversions for the Swiss street regulations. One of 'em (and the best!) is, an larger oil pan with fins for better oil cooling on Swiss "Autobahn" speeds :).
Some Mustangs of the Mustang Club of Switzerland were chosen for an episode of Amazing Race in 2014 in Switzerland.
Have fun with your Boss!

As a double B1 owner I am fortunate to have an 11K mile unrestored all original museum piece
(for sale too), and a 39K mile driver that is a blast to drive. Everyone knows/remembers this body style; great fun at the gas station!

Jhornet, I think It's refreshing to see one of these cars wearing the Beauty Ring/Hubcap package as was standard. I also have kept the look on my own Mach 1. If you Google up images of these cars, almost everyone pictured is running the optional Magnums, and that look has become all too common ( I feel ). Your Mach looks great.

My B1 actually came wi the Magnum 500’s. Of the seven options on my car the Magnum 500’s were the most expensive f all the options on my car. Not all cars you see had them added! Some were born with them.
