Tail Pipe Extensions Mach 1

hey guys, as you probably know, i want to restore the car true to the original.

What are the most similar exhaust tail pipes that come closest to the original.

I found these for Mach 1. but are they correct?

Probably as close as you're going to get for repops. These I think are for stock 2 1/4" pipes. These are what I have on my car, but welded on.
If you want NOS, you're going to pay big bucks......... if you can find them.

Yes, but from the factory there was a left hand and right hand version (position of the clamp) I have only seen the right hand version in the repop world. It works just fine though not factory correct.

Like Geoff, mine are welded on as well.

Oh no, they've taken the end pieces out of production. Do you guys know of any good alternatives, or does anyone have any to spare? I'd be happy to pay for shipping to Germany, of course!

Those are the closest to originals that *were* available. 73s didn't use the chrome tips after "some date" which I've never seen in writing.

Can you say or remember what they used afterwards? As an alternative to the chrome-plated ones? How annoying that they no longer exist...

@tpj71mach found some nice stainless ones that retain the stock look. Maybe he can tell us which ones he used.

I bought mine from Stainless Works because: they can be polished to a chrome like finish. They have resonators in them. Being stainless should not need replacement for a long time. Made in USA (Cleveland, Ohio) Best of all they are currently on sale.

I think they just used turn downs without the rear valence cutouts. Similar to what was done in 1970 on the Boss 302.

Dennis probably knows for sure...
