My Car
1973 Convertible, 351CJ, 5 Speed. Currently being restored. Projected finish date is some day.....
I was browsing through the Mustang Monthly website this afternoon, and came across a 73 convertible that looked just like the one I fell in love with when I was a kid growing up in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

As I read the article, it stated that the car started out in life in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Sold at Walton Motor Company. The same Dealership my Dad worked for as the body shop foreman.

I used to go to work with my dad on Saturdays, and help clean up new cars that had just been delivered. I remember this one in particular. I washed it, got to sit in it, and swore that one day I would have one just like it.

As it turned out, the people who purchased it, lived two blocks away from us and I had the pleasure of walking past it twice a day on my way to and from school. I can't remember the address, but I do remember that it was at the bottom of the hill on Concord Rd. LOL!

The car lived there until I was in high school in the late 70's, and it suddenly disappeared. I looked for that car every time I drove by. I even looked for it the last time I went home last year, but to my disappointment, it was long gone.

Today, I was reunited with it (so to speak), and found it living in Washington State! (At least as of 2001, when this article was printed). Glad to see it survived. (I wonder if the owner is a member of this site?)

Although my 73 convertible is not red, you can see a lot of styling cues copied from my first love. Kind of silly, I know, but it made my day and I wanted to share it with you all!!!

I enjoyed this very much, I also enjoyed learning from you, that as it turns out my Mustang came from the same dealer! Same color! Decor group. Cool!

Cool story Travis. I live 30 miles from Prosser and found the owners name and his adx. Maybe I'll take a drive by there and see if the car is still there.
