My Car
1971 Mustang Convertible
Hi All, found this trunk light for my 1971 Mustang few years back on epay , installed it and works like a charm. Light has engineering/part number D1ZB-13A756-AC engraved on its metal bracket but the socket is partially made from nylon??
Been on the hunt for an under hood light for a while and found this “Under Hood Light” according to the seller. This light has no engraved Ford number other than a 31? or 37? LC? on the back side of the bracket. Light has an all metal bracket that is a little longer than the trunk light bracket! There is a part number on the wiring saying D1AB13A756A1B.
Are these both trunk lights or what??
I’ve never seen an under hood light in person nor did my car come with the convenience group…thanks for chiming in!!

Hi ib4stangs, one of my lights has 2 mounting clips whereas my trunk light has only one tiny one and they are completely different I don't think they are both trunk lights unless they are for other 1971 Ford products! Both wires have different lengths.

DIZB is a Mustang part, designated by the Z. D1AB is a full-size (LTD, Galaxy, Crown Vic, etc.) part, as told by the A in the part number.

They are tough to find. That one was $25 and I should have bought it as a spare...

Here is a expensive one below. I think 71's had a fuse and later just had a wire plug connection...

Thanks Sheriff41 for clearing that up! '71 is different from a '73 obviously.
So, if anyone has an under hood light for a '71 for sale please message me. Thanks!

That’s odd my 72 had one originally but it was missing. On my 72 it appears it plugged into the accessory wire that runs over to the breaker mounted by the battery. Not to the positive side of the starter relay with an inline fuse.
I made one out of a Torino trunk light as I had a few from when I had Torinos.
