Sad game Rocket cause there is that chance someone will get crushed :( I'll play and say 22
Haha! Actually, there is a better chance of meeting John Wayne in the Bed and Bath store at the Mall than the UARS landing on your head! But you are right...It could happen! (The satellite hitting someone that is, John has been dead for a while now)

I just read that the debris has a footprint of appox. 500 miles long. How can it not hit a populated area? Pretty scary thought eh?

OK guys, as you may have heard on the news, a giant NASA Satellite is in a decaying orbit and will burn up in the atmosphere but some of it is going to survive re entry and hit the Earth! The problem is that no one knows where it will hit! So that sounds like a perfect game of chance for us!

Projected re-entry date is Sept. 23rd, 2011. Here is some more information on the UARS Satellite:

Here is a nice ground tracking webpage:

Now, pick a number on the map where you think the satellite will land! The winner gets bragging rights as the person that predicted where the space junk will land!

Good luck and remember to duck and cover!

Ill take 16, I really hope it lands in the ocean though, that would really hurt if it crash landed on someones head !!

It's down! Still no confirmation on location yet...some reports are indicating that it landed in the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii! Stay tuned for official confirmation later today!

Looks like we have another chance! A German satellite is coming down sometime in November!

BTW...they said today that the UARS landed near Christmas Island in the South Pacific so that looks like #25...OLE Pony is the winner!! Check his profile awards! He won the coveted satellite award! LOL

24 was close but Christmas Island is right above Australia on the map! It could be 24 though I guess...LOL

I'd pick Area 51 but it doesn't exist on this map and/or the government's map either. So I'll pick 19 instead.

I'm gonna take 26 because Australia seems to attract doomed satellites! You guys watch your heads down under!

BTW...you can pick he same area as someone else...we have plenty of satellite awards to go around! LOL

ROSAT is down and it looks like it splashed into the Bay of Bengal...between India and Indonesia. That looks like 15/16 on our map! Doesn't look like we have a winner this round! We'll have to wait for the next piece of space junk to plummet to Earth!
