Urethane bumper restoration question

Im figuring out my plan to restore this bumper. It has this wave in it. I think its from an impact. Is there away to try and straighten it? Or should I just fill and fair it flat with its surroundings?

I'm not a body man at all. but perhaps try some GENTLE heat with a hot air gun. It may pop back closer to the original shape. You can buy Urethane filler and repair kits, not ordinary body filler. Also you'll need to add a flex agent to the paint(s).
Urethan bumpers are hard to find in any condition, take your time and good luck.

Thanks, will try that. Was searching for 2 years for this one. Really scared that I will mess it up.

I actually just bought a bumper today myself! The outside isn’t bad but the metal inside is pretty crusty and causing the rubber to heave in a few spots. The rubber is separating from the metal. Not 100% sure how to proceed on this one.

It looks really straight. Good find. Is there metal inside the urethane?

All the metal support is still attached to mine. I wasnt sure if its best to separate the urethane first before I start repairs, or after.

Yeah there’s a metal plate that the bumper is formed around internally.

Okay, gunna need some of this 3M filler. Probably dig all the rust out and fill, i would guess.
