What will happen when I pull my c6 tail shaft off

Will it dump a bunch of transmission fluid or is the tail shaft portion 'dry'?

It will probably have some fluid in it, as the converter drains down. Pull the dipstick after it's been sitting for a while and you'll get an idea of how full of is.

The trans fluid will dump out. Drain trans before removing the tail shaft yoke.

Sploosh. Same thing that happens when you drop the valve body on a C6 and the converter drains.

I was thinking of swapping out the tailshaft housing on my c6 but from what I've read there's a snap ring that has to be removed internally first. Let me know how yours turns out. Good luck.

Oh interesting! I will let you know if I run into a problem.

I have the transmisson drained, the drive shaft off, the torque plate removed and the exhaust unbolted so tomorrow I will try to pull the tail housing off.
