Who has installed thier own seat upholstery?

I have installed new upholstery a few times over the years, but it has been a while. The thin plastic sheeting that is used for disposable floor and furniture covers when painting the inside of your house works well, too.

Lay the new upholstery out on the seats to see if they look like they will fit.

You'll be likely to use a lot of R rated vocabulary, and may even make up some new ones. Don't try to rush it, it's going to take time to get it done right, so don't start it the day before you want to use it. You may or may not be able to finish it in one day. It MUST be done when it's warm or in a warm place. A hair dryer may help, a heat gun on low can be used very carefully. Even though your arms feel like they're ready to fall off below the elbows, don't scrimp on the hog rings, if they're spaced too far apart the fabric may fail at the hog rings or wrinkle between them.

I installed the TMI sport seat 2 covers about a year ago. It's not that bad of a job, just take your time and walk away when needed. You may end up with forearms like Popeye but it's worth it.

LOL... very true. I forgot how frustrating of a job it was.
