My Car
72 convertible; 250 ci; auto trans
New to the forum...owner of a rusty 72 convertible. Bought it off ebay for $2300. The wife has always wanted a Mustang convertible, so I sold my big block Camaro and bought her the car of her dreams! It has a lot of rust, inner rockers and floor boards are rotted out. Put a new top on it a few years ago, my first attempt at convertible top installation...man that was a task! Wifey wants to keep it stock, but she has a hard time with the single barrel carb...she floods it on a regular basis, so I'm going to megasquirt it. I have the Tempo CTB, a new fuel tank to install an in-tank electric pump, megasquirt 2 (still have to assemble it), and an electronic distributor from a 78 Fairmont.

First task at hand is to repair the inner rockers and the floor board; the right side is the worse, where the car is caving in on itself; the top of the door hits against the door frame. I started to disassemble it last weekend, cutting out old floorboard and bracing to remove the inner rocker.

Welcome to the club from northern Nevada. Post up a pic or two when you get a chance so we can see what you're working with. :)

Glad to have you here!

Here's a pic when I bought the car in Northwest Washington

It needed a top and had rust issues...

Welcome from West Virginia! Glad she brought you over from the Dark Side LOL

Welcome from Las Vegas! Good luck with the project. You have one very lucky wife!

::welcome:: from Luxembourg, Europe.

I see you have a lot of work to do on that car. You have my respect for tackling that project but it's cool that another convertible will be saved.
