I joined this site a couple of years back when I had started looking for a 71' Mach 1. Not finding what I was looking for at that time, and distracted by other things around the home, my interest was temporarily shifted.
I'm looking for a 1971, possibly 1972 Mach 1. I'm not looking for a concourse level car, but rather a very clean Mach 1 that could be entered in local shows, and driven occasionaly.
I would really prefer to have an original four speed car. Based on my research, and please correct me if I'm mistaken, the four speed was only available on the 351 4v and 429 motors. Not having deep enough pockets to purchase a restored 429 car, I'm setting my sights on a 351 4v, four speed model.
I am some what open to body color, but black interior is a must for me. Just a preference. I also need to find a car that doesn't have any rust issues. I'm aware this model does have some known areas of rust problems.
I'm searching daily on craigslist, oldride.com, carsonline.com.
With that said, I would appreciate hearing from any and all who could steer me in the direction of the car I am looking for. I'm located in northern California, but interested in a car anywhere in the U.S.
