Do you have a spoiler or no-spoiler on the decklid? Should have a set at the garage. Am out of town until Thursday night, but can pull a set when I get back.
How do you tell the difference between the rods?

I didn't think there was a difference. I've had cars with factory spoilers and cars without. Same same. I've noticed coupes and convertibles with only one rod and the deck lid is bigger on those cars. Two rods set at the right tension position should do it. I agree with David.I will have to measure mine it came with spoiler and I have several others that do not have spoiler. I thought the 3 positions set the tension but I have seen several with prop rods to hold trunk open with spoiler. Not like Ford to have two of something if there is a way out.

David, I've checked my info and here is how they left the factory. 71-3 body style 63 (sportsroof) had left and right part numbers for spoiler and different numbers for non spoiler. Body style 65 (coupe) and 76 (vert) shows two rods of the same part # for left and right.I will have to measure mine it came with spoiler and I have several others that do not have spoiler. I thought the diameter was a hair thicker, but will check when I get back in town.
