Gents-

I have found a 1971 Mach 1. It has front drum brakes. If possible, I would like to buy everything I need to convert it to factory style, front disk brakes found on 1971-1973 mustangs. I can go to MP Master Power brakes, but I do not think they are factory correct, and that is what I would prefer.

Thanks!

Brad

I just replaced the front disc brakes in my 71 to a wilwood set so i have all the old components. My car came from factory with disc brakes but i have owned it for only 2 years so i dont know whats original. I dont have the spindles since i kept the ones. I have discs, calipers with pads, dust covers, hoses and hardware.

Were they working properly when you removed them? I think I can use my spindles, unless I am mistaken. Can you email me photos of what you have, and your asking price please sir? [email protected] thanks!

To do a complete conversion you need

pedal assembly

proportioning valve

booster and M/C

spindles, rotors, caliper assemblies

Hoses

You can either replace or bend and adapt the lines

If Tony doesn't have everything you need , let me know.

will do Don. I have bought lots of stuff from you before. You are a real resource for us all!

Best,

Brad

The spindles are the only part you really need. Everything else can be bought from local parts stores. Rotors, calipers, bearings, pads. Ect. I left the stock drum brake master cylinder in mine and stock proportioning valve. Mine are not power but work great. I have the power stuff in attic just have t got it installed yet.
