Englishtown discontinues drag racing

Just heard that E-town is shutting down the drag racing portion of Raceway Park.

Rumor has it that they have a big $$ contract with Copart to store cars.

That ashame. I grew up about 30 mins away and have many fond childhood memories of going there with my dad.

ya my son just told me.. he takes his kids there every year for the day.. i guess the housing is getting to close to the fun noise..

Very sad as I went there a few times.

Even once ran my 1969 Camaro in 1973 and I still have the run time slip

Well that is a shame. I grew up going there with my buddies to grudge race.

The writing was on the wall back then (late '80's) with the residential development getting closer to the track.

That's sad.
