Sheriff I'm going to follow this design but I'm adapting it to my sled using the steel from my body jig.


The rotisserie makes everything so much easier, I definitely prefer to be working on something in front of me rather then above me. I did all three of my other cars on a rotisserie until this Mustang. My rotisserie was a second hand purchase I bought pretty cheap and used for those other projects. After I finished my 69 Camaro, I loaned it to a friend who had his car on it for over a year and a half. When I needed it for my Mustang, his car couldn't really come off it because it was an empty shell and he still wasn't finished. Out of his guilt, he ended up paying me, more than I paid years earlier, for the rotisserie and kept apologizing. Then he was the owner but that didn't really help me get my car done. I ended up media blasting, applying epoxy primer and spraying Por15'd on a two post lift at a different friend's shop, after that it came home to finish. It would have been a way better experience if it was on the rotisserie.

Last weekend I finally got the Holley Sniper and the Holley dual sync distributor up and running. Have been fighting back issues and knee problems now since June. I’m not much better but things gotta get done. I got fed up with the unreliable carburetor issues since my build. When I started driving in the late 70s, I cannot remember having so many issues with carbs as now. Cars always started without issues and ran fine until 50k miles and then a rebuild was in order. Anyway, me Stang runs great. I can now finish my break-in with the engine build and the AOD tranny.
 
I passed by it in the garage while working on my Jeep thinking, "Man, it sure would be nice to take it for a spin... if I'd ever fixed the ATF line adapters I'd made from high-pressure fuel injection hose."
 
Not really yesterday but the weekend.
Drove an hour to the machine shop Friday to watch it on the dyno and pick it up. Made about 6 pulls on the dyno. Unhooked the motor and loaded up in the truck and drove an hour home. Pushed the disgustang out of the garage and unloaded the motor. Pushed the stang back in the garage. Prep the motor for installation then installed. Got trans mounted. Installed headers and hooked up the fuel system and electrical. Searched the garage for over an hour trying to find the power steering bracket. Couldn’t find so concluded that it must be at the machine shop. Installed the alternator and radiator, pretty much everything I could without the PS bracket. Did it all myself too.
Little sore but it was worth it.
Have to drive out to the machine shop tomorrow and grab my bracket. IMG_9498.jpegIMG_9499.jpeg
 
Just curious, what reading do you get on your mechanical gauges when the OEM gauges are mid scale? Also, what radio do you have installed there?
I let you know when I have the gauge hooked up. I need to get a bushing for the port I’m going to use. But on the dyno it had almost a 100 pounds before the oil got up to temp.
But for the very short time I ran it the stock gauge was pretty much pegged.
What rpm range would you like to know about?

I must admit I cringe a little when I see a hood sitting on the roof. I am sure you wouldn't do it if it caused you any concern on such a nice car. I just can't get myself to that point.
