73 stripe kit without words in it?

I have a 73 fastback that's not a mach1. I'm looking at painting it and adding the 73 style stripes to the sides and trunk. But I never really liked the clone/tribute cars that claim to be a model that they aren't.

Does anybody make a vinyl stripe kit without the "mach 1" text? Or does anybody make a good stencil to paint the stripes on the car?

Yes, the body stripe kits, or, "hockey stick" stripe kits are sold without the body lettering. The trunk stripe kit however, does include the Mach 1 lettering, for both the rear of the car, and the fender flanks. It was not uncommon for dealers to add, upon request ,the body side stripes to a non-Mach or Boss vehicle right at the dealership if ordered as an extra cost option. The same with the Chevy boys, as a dealer option, you could have the dealer have the Z-28 style deck stripes on your newly ordered standard Camaro, just check the order box when you order. In fact , some of the heaviest performance optioned cars started out as plain jane standard vehicles with plenty of "option deletes', to save weight and cost, if racing was intended.

Graphics Xpress or any of the other companies could likely make you a set of stripes sans text. You could do something really neat and get them made from the reflective black too.

I have a 71 but I bought a factory set for my car and my painter used them as a template to paint then on. I didn't want tape.

I was thinking about something like this. But wondering if there were some templates meant for this purpose so they would be more like painters tape and less like vinyl with industrial 3M glue.
