I'm beginning the prep to build a 600hp C4. Ideally, I'd like to find a resource that covers everything involved in building to this level. This book is one of a couple that come up in searches, but a lot of negative comments directed at TCI. From what I gather, it's more of a sales pitch for TCI parts. If you have experience with this, or other, books/resources that include info for high HP build, I'd appreciate your feedback.

I'm aware of the youtube videos and also belong to the active groups on FB, not to mention the posts that pop up on a www search. The drawback to those sources is confidence in a complete solution and the flood of mostly-off-topic responses in some of the forums.

Incidentally, I have a TCI C6 in the shed...bought used it in the 80's and never pulled the pan, so I have no idea what's inside....but the hate on TCI has me curious.

… problem is if you ask the very best people you’ll get different complete solutions …

You did not express how the C4 is to be used, drag racing, circuit racing, street. Is a SFI required, manual shift, trans brake …

At your HP you’ll need a true race shop to build one.

A1 was a Los Angeles shop built by Marv Ripes aka the godfather of the performance PowerGlides and more Wally’s than all but a few.
Now in Vancouver, WA

Richard is a Texas shop and shares some thing on a YouTube

Yes anyone can assemble quality parts, building to last at X HP/TQ is the black art.

I'm going to get flack for this, but to me, having 600 HP is like bragging who's got the biggest dick. 350-400 HP will get the job done just as well the majority of times and likely last longer.......... and lasting longer trumps bigger 90% of the time.
Ok, that said, if you want big HP, enjoy it while it lasts. I'll settle for lower HP, reliability and far less cost. Oh, and lasting longer too.

Built right a 408 Stroker will last. I have 15-20k miles on mine and it still runs great. And 600hp is nothing these days. 4 bangers are putting out 300 all day.
