My 1972 302 won't start in part. It will start in neutral. What should I look for? I changed the ignition switch.

Neutral safety switch properly adjusted? It could be the switch going out completely, or a wire in the harness to it got yanked/pinched/burned.

Here's the one on a C6 I pulled out of a 73 mustang. Its the electronic doodad in the selector shaft on the driver's side of the transmission. Mine has 2 pigtails worth of wires coming

I'm sure somebody will be along shortly who has the pinout handy for the pigtails. You can jumper across them or measure continuity to help diagnose if this switch is what's wrong.

NSS location depends on which transmission your 302 is back with. The C4 would have it mounted on the side of the transmission as shown above on GP's C6. If it's an FMX, then the NSS is inside the shifter bucket.
