My Car
1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 T5 Q-Code 4-Speed
Hi folks,

my name is Tim, I am 32 years old, married, and I live in the south of Germany, Europe, near Stuttgart, in a small town named "Reutlingen".

I recently found my dream car, my 1973 Mach 1 Q-Code T5 with a 4-speed manual transmission! It is slightly modified with other wheels, highjackers, steering wheel, gear knob and an older paintwork in raspberry without the original small vinyl-roof. All other seems to be original.

The condition is very good, 97% rust free. The body, cavities, interior, engine compartment and trunk are fantastic! Although the paintwork is quite ok I'm planning to spend him the original paint back in Gold Glow Metallic with the original stripes.

Here he is now:

Original:

And here is how I'm planning to do him

Cheers

Tim

Hello from south of France, beautifull car, but will be more beautifull in Gold Glow Metallic :)

Never saw those orange turn signals...

Manu

Hey guys,

thank you very much for your friendly welcome, great :)

Glad, you enjoy my new car!

Yeah, Mike, thanx - it took not too long... ;)

@manu:

Thank you :) I think, this is why he is a german export modell named "T5" with some specifications for german traffic like orange turn signals in front and on the side...

Cheers

Tim

Hey Tim! Welcome from Washington state! Your car looks to be in pretty good condition. I am restoring a 71' T5 Mach 1 so I may need to talk to you sometime about some of the T5 specific parts on our cars.

@talontwo and don65stang:

Thank you very much :) Don, you have quite a lot of Mach 1's in your collection, wow...

@shgrrttn:

Thank you :) Oh, that's nice - you're welcome to ask, Ritchie, cool! A few miles away from me there is another guy with a 1973 T5 Convertible, so we could all benefit from each other...

@jeff8877:

Thank you very much, Jeff! I'm looking forward too, but it will be a bit of work over the winter before... ;)

Cheers,

Tim

Hi Tim and welcome from Washington State. I noticed you're in "Schwabenland". Met my wife near Stuttgart many years ago, spent a total of 9 years in Germany, picked up a strong Schwab dialect with the street German I learned. When the Army finally sent me to the Defense Language Institute to learn Hochdeutsch they tried for a year to beat the Schwab dialect out of me, but failed...they ended up sending me back to Stuttgart where I could best communicate. We still visit the Stuttgart area once a year since I now have family there.

Tim: Please receive a warm welkum from North America; we admire you guys and gals across the water who restore and drive these "Yank Tanks" with few parts and technicians available to you. Love to see your ride in "Gold Glow." Certainly a beautiful color for the 72-73 Mach 1's. tim
