image.jpgStarted work on the dash yesterday and continued today. I used the original top, removed the dash pad and connected my version to that. Here's a few pics.

All this will be wrapped in stitched leather. The speedo on the right pod, the tach in the left pod, and everything else will be in the center console. Reminiscent of the 71 pantera. Also the dash will be remove able. For any required access .

I really like that Ray! Really nice version of a dashboard!!
Thanks Daniel , good to hear from ya, it's quite removed from the original. Some guys take a lot of pain to recondition the original dash but I put my efforts in to a custom version. Been looking forward to seeing some work on yours. Love your tail lights.

Also keep in mind that the original dash is a monster , so tall, with my 4" chop the original dash would be way to close to the floor board so I kinda had to do a custom as I couldn't see a path to sectioning the original dash, not that I wanted to. Custom was in the plans all the way.

Doesn't just look good it makes a lot of sense and wrapped in leather, it's going to be gorgeous. When it comes down to it, the car cruising down the road is for everyone else to enjoy the site of. For the driver it's the interior especially the steering wheel the dash and gauges. Its not often you get to experience your ride turning your own head since it's standing still when your not in it. A video or someone you trust is as close as you get to seeing what others see. That's where you spoil yourself.

I would be more than happy to drive either of your cars so you could get the experience of seeing it go down the road... and further down the road and still further down the road. :D

Lol. A real friend.

Lol, I guess I'm a lucky guy, my son who is also a hot rod builder, and I can swap our rides in order to enjoy looking at our perspective cars go down the road. It's funny he'll say to me, when I finish a build and drive it down the road, for the first time, dude, let me in that thing, you gotta see it go down the road. Ha ha I actually have let him take them on their virgin voyage while I watch. It's all good. I'm pretty good about that. If I meet up with either of you I will let you take mine for a cruise as long as you promise to bring it back, lol.
