What do you guys think about adding the mustang spoiler on the rear, or a different spoiler.? I'm not sure how it would size up with the trunk panel gone. Could someone please give me the measurement of distance between the center of the mounting studs, on a stock spoiler, side to side. Thanks

Visibility out the rear window would be gone, looks like it may be decent right now. The only spoiler that would maintain visibility would be like those used in the Daytona's and Superbirds but wouldn't look good IMO. I personally like the look that you have right now.

Thanks for the input guys, one last thought, the pantera wing would be even with the top of the roof and allow rear view. Problem I have with that is its so gaudy. Maybe I'm going a little overboard. Sometimes simpler is better. Wish I knew how to photo shop, I could put that pantera Wing on the pic of my car and see it.

Hey buddy. I always thought if you go with mechanical functionality it usually overrides it looking out of place. All depends on what sort of overall finished product you see for the whole car. It cant just be an add on. It would require a front chin spoiler with as much mechanical functionality as well. Like it has a purpose over just looking great. You know what I mean? There was just the Pantera and then there was the GTS. Which one do you see your build being inspired by more. Then go fully in that direction. Maybe even a set of side or top brake duct inlets etc. Strictly a personal opinion but when you've taken a mustang and made it shorter, lower, meaner..... I wouldn't start pulling back now. But I would go with something like the pic I sent vs a 90's cuntache looking thing. But again just me. You may want to build with more taste and less race. I don't know and can't speak to your original vision.

This is on my friends Cobra. If you want any info on that particular wing I can ask him about it for you. I remember the figure $3000 being spoken but not sure. Not cheap. Also part of the decision process lol.

Or one with the corners dipped down to look more Mustang than Pantera ?

Thanks man, I do like the wing that turns down similar to the original mustang spoiler. I do plan on a front spoiler of sorts too. Even though I did have a version of this build in my head, its conception was back in the 80s. Since then, so much in design technology has changed from body mods to suspension and drive train. I just don't wanna rule out modern considerations. I don't really wanna go 90s countach. Don't really wanna go too high tech. All the time, considering that when I was younger all that weird stuff I found cool. At this point in my life with limited abilities but time to explore, I want to express myself fully with this build. Including a compilation of my life's work and dreams. I hope to accomplish a long thought of goal added to a matured well balanced finish product. Not meaning to get too deep here lol, but it's hard for me to say exactly how I'm feeling. One thing is for sure, as it moves along I'm finding it pleasing. And I'm sure it will go where it needs to be in the end. Sometimes I spend as much time in the thought process as I do in the actual build. Thanks very much for all of your input, all of you who are willing to share. Like I said in the beginning of this build, I haven't shared in the past I just do what I feel. This ones different. I seek input and appreciate it.

I completely agree with time spent thinking on it vs working on it. Hard to say which is more. I know one thing for sure and that is: it will turn out exactly how it was supposed to because if it wasn't supposed to be that way it wouldn't be that way. Something I use every time I was expecting a different outcome in life to keep me in check. Now who's getting too deep. Lol.

All I know is that you could find a similar version of that wing on both the mustang and the Pantera it it did work on both cars. I said definitely no wing on my own build but it's creeping back in because although I respect all views and opinions I may have let a couple of people who's opinions I respect sway me away from my original vision. I just need to do my own th Ng in the end.

That being said, it agrees with my point, that opinions from respected people can most definitely affect your build destiny. Lol , I have grasped on to a few comments made to me during this project. Some I have considered but they just didn't convince me to change my mind. The opinions of people on this forum are priceless even when they do nothing more than strengthen your own visions. If ideas are expressed and you don't grasp on to them, that would indicate the strength of your originality. It Doesn't make anything right or wrong ,it just proves that your ideas suit you better. There are many talented people posting on this forum for sure. I appreciate the diversity of the posts regardless of the individual preferences . From all stock to performance mods & updates to the most radical customs.

image.jpegWell, I started making my rear side window trim. I'll tell ya , I wish I could have just ordered these from CJs or something. Since there's no such thing available I had to fab them, here's a few pics.
