72 mach 1 on Ebay $59k...Too Wonky?

Generally, I don't care to criticize someone's efforts at restoring a car, but this is a dealer, they probably didn't do it, maybe it's consignment. So...fair game.
Looking at other stuff on Ebay and found this...to me, it looks wonky. Not because of details like the hoodpins. It's like it was thrown together with no attempt at making things line up, especially the front end. At first I thought the body was tweaked from the firewall forward, as if it sagged during framerail replacement or something. But I think it's just sloppy assembly.
Someone with OCD would have their head explode looking at the front end everyday.

The Goodyear Wingfoot HPs on the driver's side and Hercules HP 4000s on the passenger tells you everything you need to know. Those Goodyears haven't been made in about 20 years. Another $300 for a matching set of tires was too much?




Agree with the "thrown together" look. Nothing about this car say it's worth $60k. or even $30k in it's current condition.

I totally agree. The hood pin extension mounts were not used. Clearly "someone" had not a clue how they were supposed to be installed. If that happened what else has been done incorrectly. Such a sad thing to see for an otherwise nice car. It is very rare for me to point out an error on someone else's car, Live and Let Live. But, in this case for me to not way something is the offensive thing to do.

What a joke. Even the stripes don't line up correctly, driver door to quarter.
If that get 60K, the buyer is blind or totally unaware.
From that, mine would be a bargain at 100K (wishful thinking!)

The driver fender to door gap is so big you might enter the car without opening the door. Hood alignment on right front is way off. I expect perfection for $60k.

They were mounted to the radiator support, without the use of extension mount brackets need on account of the hood being far longer than on pre-71 Mustangs. Somebody was in over their head on this otherwise potentially nice looking Mustang. It looks so silly with the pins being mounted so far back in the hood. Very sad to see.

In this video one can see, on our 73 Mach 1, where the Dzus style hood lockdowns ought to be positioned.

but the hood pins on the car in question are near the center scoops so how would radiator support work for that?????? I still see nothing in the engine bay pics that would work (of course never having hood pins maybe I don't know what I am looking at).

The price is too high at 60K for what the car is, but this is not that bad of a car, lol. Any M/Q code Mach 1 with a good paint job and interior and now worth north of $40K. This car has some desirable options like full gauge package, and power windows. It seems like an older restoration, judging from the Goodyear Wingfoots, it was probably restored 20+ years ago, but it looks fine. If not for the mismatched ancient tires, the stupid hood pins, and the too high price it would be a nice car to have. This car listed at $45K would not look as bad. I would be willing to bet it is a consignment deal and the owner wants to much money for it, and the dealer is tacking a ton over what the owner wants...

It's almost like this "thing" was slapped together on purpose for us to "find whats wrong with this picture"! I've seen some cobble jobs, but I think having those mix matched hoops takes the cake.

It has a shinny new paint job, that looks really nice, but the interior seems to be all original and unrestored, hard to see the gauges as the plastic is yellowed and you can see that the interior has the typical Armor All resto. Engine seems to have been at least pulled and painted, but who know if it was rebuilt, nothing about rebuilt engine in ad. Also asking $60K for it...

The switches were made in the same style. The one on the car is correct.
