bumper reinforcement panel color

What is the factory color of the bumper reinforcement panel? (This is the panel that sits above the bumper) Body color or engine compartment color?

I forget where I've seen the info, but it's supposed to be slop gray like the shock tower supports. Mine was missing so I tracked one down from an original car and it was black.

Not mine but one that is for sell on E-Bay, and as you can see is black. I also have a NOS piece in storage I checked on earlier and it is also black.
