All stock at the moment
How will this cam work in this engine and a stock intake manifold?

Hydraulic Flat Tappet. Lunati's version of the D2ZZ-A FOMOCO camshaft. ; Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 280/290 ; Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 219/229 ; Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .505/.505 ; LSA/ICL: 114 ; Valve Lash (Int/Exh): Hyd/Hyd ; RPM Range: 1500-5000 ; Includes: Cam Only

Agree with Tommy, that's a good cam, but you will need a little bit of gear. It's quite a bit larger than the CJ cam which was 205/220

There are a couple caveats. First, it's a flat tappet cam, which is like playing Russian Roulette these days. Second, you say your engine is all stock - I wouldn't just toss a cam in a 55 year old engine.

If you're looking for more power, advance your initial timing and recurve the distributor, swap out the 4300 Autolite for a 3310 Holley, and add an Edelbrock Performer intake.

This info is spot on !

Hey I have a question about the stock 70-351c4v/300 cam and also the 72-351ho/275hp cam.
Anybody know the .050 durations or events on these:

Here’s what I have from the Ford Muscle Parts and OHO Books

351c4v/300 d0az-c
268-280 adv
???-??? at .050 ???????????????
159-170 at .100
118 LSA

351ho/275 d2zz-a
275-275 adv solid
???-??? at .050 ????????????????
197-197 at .100
120 LSA

Note that the 351Boss cam is usually said to be bigger than the 351ho.
This is true for adv duration but not at .100 duration
D1zz-b
290-290 adv solid
228-228 at .050 ?
190-190 at .100
116 LSA

And of course, specs list peak HP of the 351Boss cam at 5400rpm, but peak for the “milder” 351HO cam at a whopping 6000rpm.
I’ve never even heard a stock 351HO run (so few of them) so hard to assess this.
Any help with the ???????????????? data appreciated!
