CL 73 Coupe Guy needs it gone asap

I called and talked to him. Needs it gone asap. Asked what he wanted for it. Said 1500 bucks. I am sure you could get it for less. He didn't seem to know to much on it though. Maybe I talked to the wrong person

Not much info in the ad. If it's a So Cal car it may be rust free & if that's the case the body is worth $1500.

Alright how much is a 351C 2v in running condition worth? Maybe this would be a good buy for me on my current project

That's a loaded question. If the car just looks ugly b/c of mismatched colors/primer, worn interior etc. but is all there, rust free, and runs/shifts good then $3 - 4k for a coupe. Make deductions for deficiencies or additions for items in really good condition. My numbers may be slightly off since I've only bought & sold Mach 1s but I downward adjusted the number somewhat.

Don I think your on target $3-4k if its not a rust bucket or bent.

Called him again got some more information

Good:

New transmission in it.

351C V2 Engine

Body is in good condition minimal rust.

Starts up and runs and drives.

Its cheap lol

The roof is good.

Floor pans are good.

replaced that fender from rust and a bad dent.

Bad:

Money lol

The trunk floor replaced

Passenger floor pan in front needs replaced. Not horrible but could use.

Money lol

I plan on making my way there this weekend if he still has it. to do a better assessment. Can you guys get a general list of the important things to look for so I can check them out?

Sell the quarter window roll up assemblies for $50 to a Mach 1 guy (like me) so I can make my fixed position quarter windows operable.

I'm sure you could make back $1500 if you parted it out. It might take a little time for some of the parts but others would go pretty quickly.

Get the door data info & post that. You never know it could have a trac-loc rear & nice gears.

If pass floor is rusty it's probably a leaky cowl. If he'll let you pour a glass of water in the cowl vent & see if it leaks...I bet it does. If it does then it makes a good negotiating issue. If you can't do the water trick open the glove box and shine a light into and above the glove box to see the bottom of the cowl.
