5:12 pm: Up to 150 million Americans are expected to contract the coronavirus, congressional doctor says

Dr. Brian Monahan, the attending physician of Congress and the U.S. Supreme Court, said he expects 70 million to 150 million people in the United States will become infected with COVID-19, NBC News reported, citing two sources.

Monahan made the comments to Senate staff during a closed-door meeting Tuesday afternoon, according to NBC News. The meeting did not include senators and was for administrative office staff and personnel from both parties, NBC News reported.

They keep changing the numbers every day.

Sorry to hear.  I wasn't aware that you had cancer.  Hope that your treatments are moving in the right direction for you. 

As far as being an old fart there is nothing anyone can do!

 Sincere thoughts and prayer from Rod and sally. Sally says hang tight and keep on fighting we are close on cures for some of the cancers. Sally says if I must pass then who better to do it with than a good person and a parts supplier who knows my 71 Mach. If we can? Let’s take the parts with us?

Quibbling about who was right and who was wrong can only be settled when "its over" (if), but, it does not change one thing:  take all the precautions you feel necessary, but ignore this at your -- and many other people's -- peril.  Am I paranoid?  Sure -- I'm in the age category and have multiple relevant conditions that would indeed put me in additional peril.

The most sense I've gathered from your post so far.  Well said - this much we can agree on: now is not the time to politicize things like this.

Having said that, I for one am not going to lose sleep over something I can't do anything about aside from not making things worse for anybody else.  If it's my time, it's my time... just like when West Nile and Zika threatened to wipe out the western hemisphere once it showed up in the Southeast.

On a serious note,  my other club have a National Viper Event  in a few weeks time which is supposed to take place in Miami and they have rented out Homestead Miami NASCAR Track,  I have already heard tonight that the Swiss and the Germans will not be allowed to travel to the USA  for the event 

I can fully understand people being worried.  Our Club national officers are working hard at the moment as there is big bucks involved, not to mention Hosting the event then returning home and possibly infecting a family member

Stay safe everyone, take sensible measures, cut back on eating out and getting too close to people, leave a gap if queuing at a checkout.   Worth keeping some Alcohol hand sanitizer on your person for cleaning your hands after using a credit card machine or entering your pin number at the supermarket or Drug store.

And Gas Pumps, doors, the list goes on!

Whatever we think, it doesn't matter. What matters is whatever happens. Time will tell so let's stop the aggressive typing since right now nobody knows. We want it or not, we would be affected by it. Either from contracting it, or because the things that we enjoy got cancelled, or because the things that we like are not available for a while. We can only slide down the economy and markets since we don't have the power to change that from happening. Then..... after the recession hits, let's start buying all the toys we always wanted: old used cars, boats, etc.

The biggest thing they are trying to do is slow down the spread of the virus to keep the hospitals from being overwhelm like in Italy and China. I know people are questioning the numbers but a lot people did not get tested  overseas because they did not show symptoms and because tests where not available. Hopefully this  virus will run it course  quickly and  people can go back to worrying about  the crappy weather we are having.

Banned gatherings over 100 people  - no Columbus swap meet

Is going to ban all visitors from nursing homes and assisted living facilities

The idea is to slow the progress

They expect the peak to be the end of April or early May 

Cleveland Clinic is setting up a drive thru testing facility - they hope to be able to test 500 people a day

Update - As of about an hour ago Ohio is shutting down all restaurants and bars as of 9pm. tonight. They can still offer carry out and delivery but no dine in allowed until further notic.

Same here in CT. Takeout/ delivery only. Schools are now shut down until at least the 31st. Gyms, movie theaters, casinos - all shut down.

I had told the people putting on the Ponies in the Smokies mustang show that I would not bring my cars yesterday and told them I thought it was not wise to attempt the show. I just got email from them it is cancelled. I think CDC has sent out new guidelines to any gatherings.

They are out of school here and cancelled all courts. I just have to go get a case of whiskey and I am set, lol. No hand sanitize so I will kill it from the inside. I have to spray gal friend down with it when she comes over, lol. Here is the info from the PITS Mustang show.

Someone mentioned the last huge outbreak I think it was the flue that took out millions. I think this is a way for the U.S. to drop the numbers of SS and Medicare they pay as us old guys do not stand a chance especially like me with Emphysema.

PITS20 COVID-19 Update 3/16/20 - EVENT POSTPONED...NEW DATES 7/29-8/1/20!


 


With the current Global COVID-19 Pandemic, the recent Executive Orders and CDC warnings over the weekend it should come as no surprise that in the interest of public safety city officials are requiring next week's scheduled Ponies In The Smokies is being postponed until July 29th - August 1st, 2020. 


 


The entire schedule of events and venues will remain.


 


ALL MONIES PRE-PAID AND VOUCHERS/WRISTBANDS RECEIVED IN THE MAIL WILL BE APPLIED TO THE RESCHEDULED DATES


 


We appreciate everyone's support and patience as we closely monitored the situation and weighed every possible option first.  We are thankful that all of our venue's gave us this flexibility to reschedule and we believe in 4 months the effects of this Pandemic will be in our rear view mirrors.


 


Also, as a result of the new dates, PITS Summer Vacation '20 originally schedule for July 24-25, 2020 has been canceled.  2021 Summer Vacation details to follow at a later time.
