Does that TS/HS routing look wrong?

Shouldn’t this Turn Signal/Hazard Switch wiring go down the middle of the column? Here’s how it is currently routed:

Mine runs down the underside of the column, not off to the side.

Yea, the service manual says to remove that metal bracket at the bottom of the steering column to remove the harness. Looks like I’ll have to remove more than that to get this one off. The joy of salvage yard buys . . .

Along the side is correct. If at the bottom it would interfere with the round steering column cover plastic sleeve tabs and retaining clip that are located at the bottom.

I got it. New one’s wires were a bit shorter than the one on there. I think I’ve read others saying the same thing. A little longer would actually be better, for routing the wires, and would make a cleaner looking setup. Shorter is just wrong.
