Could everyone here me cussing from Texas? I'm pretty sure my kiddos got a better vocabulary test today than they do in school.

A few weeks ago I washed the car for the first time. I noticed a pretty sizable leak on the passenger side but thought it was from the roll down quarter windows I added. I'm happy to report that my handy work does not leak. Instead it is dripping from the drip rails. I'm guessing the body guy didn't seal it properly.

Thoughts?

It's a known problem for these cars. Could be on top of the rail molding or between the two moldings. Most likely between the paint and upper molding. I had to bed my moldings in urathane caulk to stop it.

There was some type of sealant installed during assembly. I am not sure of the type sealant that was originally applied to the drip rails. This book, 1971 1972 Ford Mustang Body Assembly Manual Rebuild Instructions Illustrations , will tell you what was applied. It will show you all areas of the mustang body that received sealant to keep moisture out. It is a great reference book to have in the Mustang Library!!
