Dynacrap flappers not merging with factory scoop

Anybody out there have same issue? The chinese knock-off flappers dot not fit around factory scoop inlet, how did YOU solve it? I do not want to grind my scoop, grind inside of dynacrap plastic instead? Really is sad with todays technology, cad cam , 3d scanning and China`s history of copying everything they can`t make a lousey simple part like this match up with original example.

If you have a heat gun, you might be able to heat it up and reform it to work. Re-staple it in place and let it cool on the scoop to keep it's new shape. As a side note, in the early 80's, I bought an NOS part from Ford because I sucked a bird into one of my scoops at high speed and it busted the crap out of it. I had to return it and get another, because the first one didn't fit either.

I had this exact same thing happen.
Never got around to solving it. I just have been driving around with nothing attached to the inlet.

The knock-off artist probably forgot the shrinkage factor for the plastic when they made the mold. Disgraceful!

You might want to boil some water then once the water is hot take it off the stove, insert the end that fits over the inlet to soften it up a bit and quickly remove it from the water and put it on the inlet as it cools it'll conform to the shape of the inlet. Just another suggestion I'm throwing out there.

Those Ill-fitting parts from Dynacorn are disturbing. I've repaired my inlet ducts a number of times, replaced the vacuum motors, J-B welded cracks, had to use fender washers under the fasteners due to bolt hole errosion....and have been considering just replacing them. I had no idea that THIS was going to face me. I've said it before, when it comes to reproduction parts that don't fit, it should be against the law. There should be a truth in advertising statute in effect . But then again....does Dynacorn actually say, in any advertising, that these reproduction parts will correctly fit the factory "nostrils"? Probably not, huh.
