Yeah , I have driven the gt500 on track. It give you that feeling of unlimited power like a Ferrari. Amazing amazing machine. I had a Zl1 Camaro which is not as fast as the gt500 but it was still capable of insane speeds but I sold it because I thought I was going to get myself into serious trouble. Kind of miss that car.
It was really something.
You have the right attitude ,
There is nothing to prove, that’s not why I posed the question. That 69 Shelby is a unique car
Kind of predates the 71 Mustang
With some similar sheet metal right? I guess I didn’t realize the 429 check was available in any form in 1969. I know the has boss 429s and 429s in nascar taladega torinos.
Oh sorry I misread your post 428cj in the 69 gt500

Do you use a trans brake? Please post a pic of that engine!
I do have a trans brake and two step. Here is a picture of the engine. It is very streetable. Only 3.50 gears. I pick up my daughter from school with it and have driven it to work.

THAT is cool. It doesn’t stick up
Ridiculously high like others I have seen. I love it. Besides a country dance what is a two step?

It is a second rev limiter when the transmission brake is on. You hold the trans brake and mash the accelerator to the floor and it won't rev above say 4,200 rpm. The minute you release the button it goes to the high rev limiter.

Thanks for explaining!
