Today I finally finished the exhaust. New pipes all the way and welded. I cut out for the pipes in the Valance.

The Mach 1 has been out for a while now. The 4r70w is big improvment to the old FMX. Its so nice to Cruise the highway, but still smoke the tires when accelerating hard.

If someone has some questions Il be glad to help :)

Hi

I Think it was 1800 and modified to 2300-2400.  Its hard to get a correct stall speed number because ford used different settings. But stock should be  1600-1800.

Awesome Rob

[ If anyone is interested I can list the mods done in the 4r70w.]

I am!!

[il have to shorten the driveshaft 1,5-2 inches.]

Where will you let it be balanced?
In our case the tailshaft housing is the short one, so no changes needed to the driveshaft in our 73 Mach. The AOD length was only 1/4" longer with the short tailshaft than the C4. We had plenty of reserve travle with the sliding yoke at the front of the driveshaft. YMMV.

Below are a series of YouTube links for our entire AOD transplant. In the descriptions I include parts list and vendor info as well.

This is a link showing the impact on engine RPM at 60 MPH with the AOD in 3rd/Drive gear, and then in 4th/OverDrive gear. In the AOD, 3rd gear is a 1:1 ratio, just like 3rd gear in a C4. FMX, or C6 automatic transmission.

Following is a list of relevant YouTube video links contained in this document’s prior paragraphs, and from YouTube listings:
