My Car
71 mach 1 302 c4 2nd owner i bought it in 92 and have managed to keep it on the road since then through thick and thin drove 1000 miles into france back in september nerver missed a beat and the fuel pump quite liked it as well!! keeping the faith and the throttle in cheers mickmatt
apologies for this am getting old and the heat is killing what brain cells i have left looking for a bit of advice since i disconnected the steering lock to g/box linkage i now cannot remove ignition key from lock and there seems to be a collar around column just behind coupling where the link rod joins and then goes down to g/box question is should this move independently now link rod is disconnected as at the moment it seems to be solid any advise we;lcome cheers mickmatt

Go underneath the car at the bottom of the steering wheel column is where the linkage attached to the transmission lock rod, there is a round collar , turn the collar by hand that should disengage the key lock.

You should be able to reach this without jacking the car up. It's on the fire wall side before the rag joint. The plate will, pivot clockwise or counter clockwise.
