When I was selling my '68 AMX I visited Gateway here in ATL. I wanted to see an AMX they had for sale and see how it looked in person compared to pictures and descriptions. I noted that the cars were parked so close together you could only barely open the driver door. I asked what happened if some damage is done, like paint chips. They told me they would fix it which left me scratching my head as my amx at the time was almost impossible to match. The car I looked at looked like nothing in the pictures or descriptions, much worse than advertised. I left asking if their staff took creative writing courses before being hired. My friend eventually put his amx there for sale, it sold but again the pics and description in no way matched the car I knew, it had a lot of problems. I felt sorry for the buyer when he got the car. I have also been to Streetside here in ATL and the same story, although their cars were parked much better for viewing. Most cars, regardless of their condition, were way overpriced as Gateway/Streeside have to get their money, so cars are priced thousands over what the owner wants to get. I would consider selling via Streeside I guess as they can sell to a wider crowd then I can, as long as I get what I want. Plus side, I guess, I would not worry about questions from the new owner. I once sold a Mercedes ML350 to a guy here and I got texts now and then with questions, up to 5 years later!!!
