that bad o mechanic

my Civic needs new stopping. took me longer to get the sthhhangs outta tha garage than to change the brakes. My "engineerknowitall" neighbor... "came over to help you with it."

me: "for WHAT" "you showed up 30 minutes TOO LATE"

him: "I know you dont have c-clamps, well figured you might need to borrow my c-clamps to compress those calipers"

me: "got me some good ole farm raised TinuuhhhhCEE muscle" dont need no effn' cclamps" :dodgy:

some days I just dont like to be talked down to!!!:-/

Since you mention "Civic", what's the deal with the rear calipers and having to "screw" them back in? Ran across that on the wife's car (Civic)...
it seems that is a Japanese thing. the rear calipers will drive you crazy till you figure out that they screw in.(course you figured that one out). Neighbor called me over to help on a Mazda.... SAME thing. Once you got it...its okay. but DANG that first 5 hours is a bear!!!!:D:D:D

yaaaa the only thing fun is that same engineer neighbor came over to the other neighbors to HELP. Course he's one that will elbow you outta tha way to take over...(he's the only one who knows how to do stuff)

After an hour of him straining his guts out trying to compress the pistons... I was messing with the other one and somehow figured it out. and he would NOT admit that I solved the problem LOL.:D

my brakes today took less than 45 minutes both sides.

my dam rear cobra brakes are screw and compress in style as well! i hate them but they brake so well though. :-/:-/:-/

So I'm an engineer and I have neighbors...I hope they don't think I'm like that. :D

I think my neighbor knows a heck of a lot more than me about a lot of things though.

Aha! Self-adjusting parking brakes... read in the tool description...

So, the screw part has something to do with the parking brake? Hmm, I wonder what the proper procedure for setting that is? Oh, guess that's what "self-adjusting" means :D
