Hello to all of you awesome forum members. I've been lurking for far too long and finally had to join. I can't tell you how many times this site / forum has kept my project going. :)

I have a love for restoring first generation Mustangs, but I've always stuck with 65 to 70. Of course, I HAD to buy a 73 Mach 1 that needed basically everything. And that has led me here...

1973 has thrown me a lot of curve balls. Making things a little more confusing is the 1971 351c 2v that came with it along with that HUGE c6. Holy cow, it makes a t5 look like a babys toy.

I'm along for the ride though and my restore is nearing about 80% completion.

Welcome from Ohio. Please post some pics if you could. We love looking at them and to see what you have. And yes, the C6 are big but they are probably one of the best automatics out there. Like a Timex watch, they can take a licking and keep on ticking - or in our case, turning. Depending on what you want out of your car, you might want to consider adding a shift kit.

Thanks @Kilgon, here's a few pics. I am definitely considering a shift kit but my experience with doing so is zero. I am much more familiar with the inner workings of a t5. But, I'd like to see what I can get out of the c6 to give it a more race inspired feel. I've never driven this car, as it was not drivable... as of today, it is, but I'm yet to pull her out of the garage. Lots of loose ends everywhere.

Welcome from Texas, that’s a nice Mach 1. Thanks for posting up some pics. Is that a Hi-Po 289 Vert that I see in the other stall in the background?
Thanks PoFoMoCo. That is a 65 C code 289 power top convertible that I started restoring 10 years ago. I purchased it for $2,000 and it was all of 4 wheels and a frame. The 289 in it is something to behold... Has a t5 with all new stock clutch linkage. All digital gauges, black and white pony interior, Wilwood disk brakes and as much chrome as I could possibly throw at it. Oh, man am I a sucker for chrome. It's an addiction.

Plenty of people have swapped T-5 into this gen of Mustangs

Thank you everyone for the awesome welcome. I really appreciate all the compliments and words of encouragement. I'll definitely post more photos. I think I'll start a project build post to keep everyone up to speed on where I'm at - and the struggles this car is throwing my way. Cheers!
