Help orientation of steering column sleeve

Anybody know the orientation of this plastic sleeve that goes on the steering column? Been 34 years since I took it off I kinda remember it goes on the lower part of the column from the floor board up ? But not sure which direction the ribbed part goes. Any help is appreciated.

In the first picture, the end on the left side goes towards the firewall. At least that is how mine is installed.

I had a feeling but wasn’t sure .Thanks a bunch appreciate it , now I can get on to cleaning it up and getting it installed
