Identify '71 Air Cleaner pieces

I desire to get the correct air cleaner assembly for my M code 1971 Mach1, I do not have the build date at hand.

Please post any photos you have so I can have examples of what belongs to my car, also breather cap for top of left valve cover.

These are original parts on my 71 M code. I also have pics of it before I repainted it. the PCV cap is not correct in these early pics when I bought the car.
In the later pics, the PCV hose was connect from the front, later I re-routed it around the back, but to the same port on the Holley 670. I have lots more if needed.

I will be getting my pieces out this weekend to match stuff up. Thanks a ton. After the snorkel then there is a flex hose connector to the canister, then breather to pcv, anything else around the back? Where does the vacuum line go to from the actuator?

I have the exact same air cleaner as on Stanglovers car but it needs to be restored. No dents or damage other than rust. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll get you some pics. 125 plus the ride.

Thanks jpaz, I appreciate the offer but I have the correct air cleaner parts for my new setup, just following the thread for the pics of other members setups.

Good questions.
The 3/4" hose is unobtainium as far as I know unless you find an NOS one. I used 3/4" aluminum tubing I found at a NAPPA store. NPD also carry this I believe. To replicate the "texture" the original paper hose had, I used some textured splatter paint I had on hand, then painted with my go-to semi gloss SEM Trim Black. On the right v/cover, there will be a 45 degree plastic elbow inserted into the grommet, that has a short length of rubber tube going to the oil separator inside the cleaner. A problem is some of these fittings are not reproduced and hard to find. Someone was looking awhile ago for the twist in tube for the 3/4" hose. The vacuum line from the actuator (vacuum motor) goes to the vacuum temp control left side looking at the pic and the other short line goes to the "Tree" at the back of the intake. From the exhaust manifold, there will be a heat riser tube as seen in the pics below. If you have headers, you won't use this, BUT you could dummy it up to look like it's connected.
As you have a 71M code, same as mine, there won't be any other "stuff" on this cleaner. Later dates models did get changes, but I don't think that came in until the 72/73"s.
Pic 1485.2.jpg shows the oil separator (orange arrow) and the vacuum temp control.
When I worked at Canadian Fram back in the 70's when we made or had all this "stuff", I really really wish I'd grabbed a few boxes.

Just a thought, the right angle insert that connects the rubber hose from the r/h v/c to the oil separator is another hard part to find. You can just see it in my pic.

If your last question was not answered, the vacuum line from the schnorkel damper motor routes underneath the air cleaner to the bimetallic sensor that should be mounted inside the air cleaner. The sensor has two vacuum stubs. So the other stub vacuum line goes to the tree on the back of the intake manifold.

I notice the one form WCCC is pretty much the same as what I bought from Nappa, only that one was 3' long. It also looks similar to what NPD sell. The e-pay one looks to be NOS, there may be a few still out there. A friend of mine found one at a flee market a few years back, he got really lucky!
I still have a couple of the heat riser tubes in my stock that I scooped many years ago from work. Again, I wish I'd grabbed a box full! NO they're not for sale.

They are plentiful just about anywhere as they were used on a multitude of vehicles, especially Ford and Chrysler.

NPD has a listing for the vapor canister hose 9D667-1A. However, all locations show out of stock. The heat riser tube from the exhaust manifold is C9UZ-9652-A and several Ford parts departments selling on line have a listing for it. You must call to check availability. Chuck

Paint with "Ford dark corporate blue". I found Duplicolor a pretty good match, but buy at least one can from the same batch extra. Don't ask me why!!

EDIT: the "vacuum motors" aka actuators etc.etc. were supplied in either gold color dichromate or silver Cadmium. The one on my snorkel (aka inlet tube) was silver cadmium. As these replacements are ridiculously expensive, I painted it with Eastwood Silver cadmium. Looks ok, but a bit too much on the 'silver' side.
If I remember, the silver cad ones were supplied to Ford. Chrysler for sure got the dichromate ones.
