My Car
1973 Mustang Convertible.
Restoring and fixing as I go.
I found a body team to assist in the welding and restoration, they will start work on the rear quarters of my 1973 convertible.
Noticed I have some extra sheet metal in the garage. Learning about our cars. What's this piece a wheelhouse?
Didn't realize that there were inner and outer wheelhouses, as well m as usual the not fitting fitment of the aftermarket parts.

Located these short gems on YouTube as well.
He's got a 4 part series on just the quarter and wheelhouses as well.
I'm learning and will try and document. hope this helps others.

Having done this work, the best advise I can give is to replace only what's needed. If the inner is solid, and most of the outer, than only replace the rusted portion. Separating the inner and outer is an absolute PITA.

Yes. The Shop mentioned they were going to save as much as he could as far as metal .
By the way, any other gotchas, before I take the car to the shop?
Anything I can do beforehand?

I closed my eyes. This was the first time I saw my car like this, so I had to get a picture. It's been a few years, but it's time and happening.
Quarter Panels are being removed and replaced, along with the outer wheel hub.
