I currently just have liablity on my car, so if I hit someone their car is fixed, but not mine, it will be out of pocket.

So I called Hagerty today to get a qoute, all was going good, about the way I use my car, until I was asked about where do I store the car when not driven, so I said "Driveway or in the Carport with 2 open sides".

the conversation came to an end, I was told I can't be covered, and she didn't think any Classic Car isnurance company would cover me with out a fully enclosed garage.

has anyone else run into this situation?

Is there another Company that would cover a car that is not in an enclosed garage?

Thanks

Iyman

They told dad the Same thing but he has a monster garage so he was covered.

the thing about it is most companies would not cover it in a open garage. i have all my stuff through hagerty all my stuff is in a garage but i keep my f100 in the driveway during the summer. i guess best way is just tell them its in a garage. it will be covered in your driveway if someone was to happen just say you just drove it. only downside is if something happened when it was in the carport i don't know how that would work out. they say there picky but i have never heard them not cover when something happens.

It has to be stored in a garage! Classics need to be protected. Hagerty's made me take a picture of where I store my vehicles. So, Just rent one.

My wife's classic Stang is in our garage and I have my 73 Mach 1 at a privately owned Storage Facility. They are both insured through Hagerty. My wife has made two claims on her 66 Coupe, one for taking out 5 mail boxes at once, the other was for her hood flying up. Hagerty was an absolute dream to work with on both occasions. To me it is worth paying for storage in order to have classic car insurance. Just my 2 cents.

during the winter months I store in in the carport under a car cover and I put up temporary sides to protect it from the weather.

But during the summer months, I use the car daily (cruise nights, and just driving around), I have a company truck, so I park that when I get home, and use the Mustang, I put alsost 3k-4k per year on it, so thats why I cant do a a storage facility for it.

I have a chose use the Mustang or the wifes Prius... I chose the Mustang :)

I guess, I could fight the town agian and see if this time they could let me put up perminate sides to the carport. :(
