1.    Metallic clicking coming from under the hood

     a.    Happens only intermittently

     b.    When it starts clicking, happens at any rpm at any speed, but is definitely faster/slower depending on RPM

     c.    Almost sounds like a manifold leak tick, but more metallic

whats hard to figure out is why the clicking comes and goes.  it can get very loud at speed.

I recorded a video and posted to Vimeo, but it only seems to be viewable if you login to Vimeo.  I can post the vid somewhere else if someone has a location they know of. thanks

Without the video/recording it's hard to say anything. Vimeo can't find the link here. Try youtube.

If the car runs fine, oil is clear and pressure is fine, I'd start check exhaust headers/manifold... look if all spark plugs are tightened as they should.

Can be many things...

Does the noise go away when the engine is at operating temperature? From my experience, a leaking/cracked manifolds will make the noise when cold but close when heated up.

Good luck, let us know what you find.

Tom

the clicking comes and goes after the car is at temperature. oil pressure is good. I ran the car yesterday about 3hrs, and I really paid attention in the 3rd hour. at idle sometimes it was a very slow click, at speed it would be in time with the RPM, then it would completely go away for awhile. its got me stumped
