Just curious if anyone is using/had used an old Holley Street Dominator on a mild 2v or 4V 351C build. If someone is, please tell me know what you think about it's performance from idle through say 5800 RPM. Thanks, Chuck

I was running a Street Dominator before switching to the airgap intake. I liked it quite a bit. Car had good snap and response, it would start to taper off around 4800 rpm and was pretty much done at 5300. As with anything it also depends on carb tuning and gearing as well. I ran mine with a T-5 and with both 2.75 open and later 3.70 locker. While there was an obvious difference after the gear change, it was still a good intake with the 2.75 gears. I have actually considered swapping back to the street dominator instead of the airgap due to hood clearance issues but since my carb is now tuned and distributor curved for the dual plane intake, I will likely leave it as is. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the feedback. I knew they worked well on ford 302 and chevy 350 (up to about 5000 RPM) was just curious about 351C. Chuck

Wow, hadn't thought about one of those in years. The 302 version was the first intake I ever bought. I got it off the clearance rack at an auto parts store in 1990 or so. $42.99 plus tax - woot!

Hemi, That story is too funny considering what I paid for one From NAPA in 1980. It went on a 1979 302 Mustang coupe. With headers, an economy tune on a Holley 600, and distributor recurve, the highway mileage went from 21 to 30mph (at 55 MPH). the power boost was also very significant. It took down several Z/28s and Trans-Ams of the same time period. Chuck
