Nice! Is that actual jet powered?

I don't have time for hobbies really. When I'm not working, I'm playing with the kid or dog, or working on the car. When I can find the time I like to hunt birdies. There is a lot of stuff I'd like to do, but not enough clock or cash.

i flew fan jet and jet powered r/c planes graupner and i had a 1/4 scale F4 phantom and i had a MIG 29 fiberglass shell i never finished.

After a few 1000$ crashes i gave it up for helicopters .60 then after some more 1000$ crashes i went back to R/C cars where i could handle the 500$ pileups.

:p

The 1980s technology i flew back then is antique compared to today. knowing what i know today if i finished off a kit as nice as that F-18 i would never be able to fly it.

is the F-18 kit a skymaster?

I started in the early 70's with control line stuff which I still fly ! Then moved to kraft /heathkit stuff of the 70's You must have flown the ducted fan stuf (Byrons ?) In the late 90's to middle 2005 I competed in the northeast in pattern (precision aerobatics) & was always in the top 10 ..That kit looks like a yellow aircraft

Hey Roger,

WOW that looks so damn real! Love the scale look of these r/c toys. I picked up a 30 size Airwolf heli a few years ago but never did anything with it. I picked up the rtf kit with the supplied 12v battery and even my Airtronics radio came with the battery packs. Sad thing is I'm pretty sure they're all no good now :( What a waste and no matter how many times I watch online videos or go out to the air shows, I just can't bring myself to build it and put it up in the air. I guess I'm a land guy and don't like the idea of always looking up in the sky.. Got vertigo? LOL!

Thanks Guys....

The last picture in my post is a video of the turbine running, just click to play, no Hollywood movie but gives you an idea

Power is from a Jetcat Titan model turbine with propane start, avionics control is via Weatronic dual receiver with dual battery supply and GPS tracking, undercarriage/doors are air with sequential control and mains have air brakes.

Kit is from Tamjets in California, radio is Futaba.

A few links.....

I fly this heli too when I have the time

Good Lord, now that's what I call a Man Cave :D I swore that in my next life I'd have a collection of GT40's. That's the sexiest car in the world and even more sexier than the Bugatti Veyron. You're my Heroe!

The FGT is awesome, owned now nearly 4 years from new, never tire of driving/cleaning/polishing/maintaining, with a few conservative mods using Ford Racing upgrades she now breezes along with 700+ hp...... :D

So you went from 5mpg to 2mpg? :D You've got all the right toys...Congrats! Now you just need to show a picture of your 1:1 scale jet or heli :) You probably own both.

No unfortunately on the 1:1:( & thanks, the low mpg hype on the FGT is bull, even with the mods I return 28 mpg (UK) on a mixed cycle, worst is down to 15 at the track, best is 30+ on prolonged highway driving, there's low weight to hp, no luggage or passengers & good tech on the motor

:D
