Time to do synchros on my 4 speed Mach 1. I’ve noticed a boot under the shifter covering the linkage when it meets the shifter. What is that part called and do they repo them. Thanks for your help.

To my knowledge this item is not being reproduced for the 71-73 chassis.

I think the '70 part is reproduced, but the 69-70 shifter opening is a different shape so that part will not exactly mate up to the 71-73 shifter hole.

I could also use a new one of these. Hopefully someone has an answer.

Are you rebuilding the transmission yourself? Ive been looking for more rebuild resources, materials and parts lists for rebuilding the Top Loader.

They did have a lower boot. Unfortunately as of this time nobody reproduces them and finding originals is as rare as hens teeth……. Btw I’m interested in buying one if anyone has one available……

The 71 and 72 toploader 3 speeds I parted out did have the shifter lower boot.
Interesting, but what about the 4 speeds? Oh wait!! I didn't read Billw69's post. I could use one too.
I know my 72 4 speed did not, but then by the time I got it, the engine block had been changed, so who knows.
With the amount of road grime that gets in and around the linkages, a boot would be a good idea for sure. As said, I tried to fit one for the 70 4 speed, but not even close.
