Will these fit my 73 Convertible? 16x7 with approx 5-1/2 backspacing.

27" high x 8.5" wide. Do you think they will look good?

Bolt pattern is 5x4-1/2"

There is too much backspacing, for 7" wide wheels you would want 4". You'll need to use spacers.

I'm not a fan of wheels that were designed for modern cars on classic cars, I prefer the deep dish look.

Me too...thanks for the feedback. Price is right, but what a waste if they dont look good!

Don't run spacers. I like the chrome look but they need to have the correct backspacing. I agree a deep dish looks great on our cars.

Like Don C, I also don't like the look of these modern wheels on the antiques, and also prefer deep dish wheels.

Depends on what YOU like, and what you plan on doing with the car. Are those chrome? I feel you would be happier with polished aluminum. Just keep them clean and don't use anything abrasive on them and they will last forever. I have only had one car with chrome wheels and I was never lucky with them, even when I kept them clean.

Those look like Torq Thrust Soft Lips to me, they belong on a 90s Camaro, not a 70s Mustang. Go for something classic and in a 15" diameter. If you like the design, go for Torq Thrust D's, they'd look much better.

I see everyone agrees, so I'll chime in on the subject.

They will look good and using adapters is no problem.

I do agree though that they'd look better if they were deep dish, or at least as deep as they can be on modern rims. The flat look always makes rims look like they don't belong on a classic.

I have modern rims with adapters but they have a deep dish design so it doesn't look that much out of place.

I think there is a car on our site that has those rims or very similar ones.

You're lucky. Those rims on a sportsroof would be drastically out of place. Coupes and 'verts have the luxury of making just about any rims work. I think it has something to do with all the extra sheet metal on the upper part of the quarter panels - at least, not all larger diameter rims "look right" on sportsroofs to me... and yet, they'll look great on a 'vert for some reason.

These have a little bit of that 'deep dish' look, but if you squint real hard and think "red" you might be able to envision what they'd look like on your 'vert. :D
